Yesterday at the lake topped out at 69 but cooled off quickly. 58 by sunset.
Upper 50s today with rain. Then the front comes through. High tomorrow will be hit at midnight and then just downhill from there. Topping out in the mid 40s around noon.
Driving back today I noticed that we almost seem to be having a second peak of foliage. All the tall trees and a lot of the smaller ones are pretty much bare and were bare a little early. But I had noticed the mid size trees were still largely green. Well now a lot of them are showing some beautiful colors which is a nice surprise since I felt this fall's foliage was a little subpar.
Temp wise this was a nice Fall. September's avg high was a little below normal at 79. Oct was 74, and November will probably be 69. So a nice gradual decline in temps. Although late September was wayyy below average so that was a quick drop but just to the upper 60s/near 70.
Temps have hovered in the low to mid 80s and been much drier. Might could have some shots of thunderstorms tomorrow with the front moving in. Rain lately has been drizzly and overcast compared to short bouts of thunderstorms during the rainy season. Temps may drop down to the upper 30s in my area, look forward to it for sure.
Freeze watches in effect on the Gulf coast for tomorrow night. Could get down to the mid 20's here and may struggle to reach the 50's tomorrow! TWC calling for 50/25F.
We should see our first snowflakes of the season here in Indy today. While it's mid-30s and just rain now that should change and apparently has south of the city. NWS says we could get 1-2 inches by tomorrow morning so roads may become slick later this afternoon and evening. Any accumulations won't stay around long even though temps will be below normal all week. Still looking at highs above freezing every day and sunshine returning by midweek.
