There's also this article:

Sure enough.... Records now show back to 1964 for Islip.
Where did this data come from??? Was there a co-op station nearby? Is this just another way to prove something? Is it that easy to change things? Was it a paper trail hidden in a file cabinet? Is there proof? Why did it take decades to show this? Was it an automatic or manned? Was it the same exact spot?

I'm very excited about this but at the same time naturally wondering.

Those articles don't say much, hopefully we get more details about this.

Always till now 1984 was the beginning, now its showing 1963. How awesome but how weird!! What the heck?

Even snowfall data???

Holy **** the record low at KISP is -14F set in 1967. Before it showed -7F set in '84.

Also the record high is 104 set in 1966, before it showed 102 set in '99.

Whoa! Excellent info! Was hoping someone would post something. I havent really dove in.

-14°F is much colder than Bridgeports record -7°F and Bridgeport goes back to 1948.

And Bridgeport was -2 in 1967. -14?? Lol

Hartford was -13° in 1967
