In other news, Sao Paulo and Curitiba had maxs of 13.8ºC and 12.3ºC respectively today, in wich likely will be the last gasp of this winter in southern Brazil.

Either ogimet.com or meteomanz.com. But this data comes from the airport.

A freaking blizzard currently in Esquel. Snow and wind at the same time is pretty rare.

Still, I expect little to no accumulation.

As winter is almost over in Southern Hemisphere, here are the coldests temperatures of this season in South America :

Bariloche : -25.4C/-13.7F(new all time record low, impressive for a Csb climate)
Balmaceda : -20.6C/-5.1F(Winner of the poll but far from the all time record low of -28.3C, it was the first time they've registered temperatures below -20C since 2010.)
Maquinchao : -18.5C/-1.3F

Would like to know about Australia or New Zealand.

Wow impressive! I am also very interested to know what was the coldest day time high for these and other locations in the Southern Hemisphere and how many days in the winter the places that had the most subfreezing high temps. Thanks

Balmaceda lowest high was -5.6C at June 25 and 11 total subfreezing days.
Maquinchao lowest high was -4.2C in July 20 and 5 total subfreezing days.
Bariloche lowest high was -4C in July 17 with only 3 subfreezing days.

It's hard to find daily max/mins in NZ, and I only have them for a handful of locations. The coldest I could find was one day in Clyde at 0.2C, with 5 other days below 1C. It's at a relatively low altitude though (110m), so subfreezing maximums in other regions are a possibility.
