Yep, definitely a cold wind with this one!
Had wind gusts over 70 mph in NW Washington all last evening.
50 mph STEADY for over 6 hours.
Neighbor across the street lost a HUGE part of an evergreen tree.
Snapped half the tree trunk and its diameter at the break is about 4 FEET around in thickness! 40 feet long section.....laying in his yard.
He's got some FIREWOOD!
No snow here, but the eastside 'burbs of Seattle are a snowy, icy slush.

At least there are several days of sunshine forecast for the Pacific NW now!

Going to be FRIGID in the northern Plains and Great Lakes for many days though after this passes on by there.....but it IS THAT time of year!

But, hey......that's winter in ND!

EDIT..........excuse me, you said north IDAHO.......ok. Cold and windy there today, but not -30 wind chills.
What I was saying is the weather report said it would be around zero but never mentioned if that included the wind chill factor or not. as it turned out we did not get high winds, just a small amount and the temps did not get as cold as they predicted.

Cold front definitely moved through here yesterday, too! We were 47º yesterday, it's 14º this morning and, apparently, we've already hit our high for the day! I live north of Denver and it was VERY windy last evening and this morning. South parts of Denver have been getting light snow and strong winds this morning, but the north end missed the snow (as much as I love snow, they can have it!).
