Anyway it was extremely cold on the Riviera today, with a Hi/Lo of 17/11°C (63/52°F) in Nice. My car thermometer even showed single digits this morning at work. As frigid as NYC's forecasted Saturday low actually.
I always wondered if we would run out of names with all the space there is but then I realized even 2 cities in same county can have same street name and 2 states can have same city name.

52F is actually 3 degrees below NYC normal low. I always think that would be warm for you there cause of your latitude but kinda surprising to hear you say it was "extremely" cold. Extreme cold here today would be like 30F

Right. Unfortunately every office is cuffed to their own coverage areas. We're lucky they do that much on the map for a forecast. I guess they find forecasts are more necessary than actuals. Don't know.

There is this.

Todays actual Lows. ObsMaps

Boston is the warmest place in the BosNyWash corridor today, and by almost 10 degrees in many places; very interesting map

You can almost get a sense of whats building...kind of.

Bright sun, dry and 80s and 90s SC, GA, FL
Heavy storms in Eastern NC.
while cloudy and in the 60s in Alabama and 50s in Virginia.

Interesting current departure map especially in Southeast

Wow, well below normal in Texas.. (Temps 60s/70s). Just from being Cloudy?

I wonder when it will reach 90F for the first time this year. It has reached 89F a number of times but hasn't managed to reach 90F somehow.

There's not even a 90F in the forecast. Maybe it won't reach it until June!

In 1983, it didn't reach 90F until June 29.
