They are predicting above normal temperatures and rainfall for the Los Angeles area. I hope that is the case.

Now Bastardi thinks there will be troughing in the east because of a big pool of above normal SST's under Alaska. That would cause more ridging in western Canada, and thus the jet would tend to bend down stream

I think its going to be a cold one this year. But don't expect much snow in NJ since it will be very dry as well. Around 0.5" in Cape May to 18" in the highlands.

I doubt it. We usually have a few rainy days in October yet we had the first rainless October in San Jose since 1980. We haven't had any rain well into November, although that's gonna change with some rain forecast for tomorrow and the day after.


I think the drought will go on and on.....

As for temperatures, we've been having crazy diurnal ranges with highs in the 70s and lows in the upper 30s so I think it evens out to about average.
