Last time I saw our forecast, we were actually a hair colder at -8 C (18 F) and windchill of -15 C (5 F).
It finally stopped snowing and we're getting occaisional sunny breaks.
The windchill means almost nothing. It's easy to get a few degrees lower whenever it's not calm outside, and that's what it is today, barely not calm.
If we had 20 mph gusts, the windchill would probably be -5 F or colder. That's when I think the windchill counts.
After the turbulent storms of the other night, we have settled back down to a calmness that I am glad to see.
Currently we are at 53 degrees, the sun is shining and we have a bright blue sky. The birds are chirping like crazy and on my desk is the second daffidil picking that my husband has found for me this year. The first was on Jan 12! Go figure.
I am enjoying them, have a whole vase full, he picked them for me for our anniversary on the 5th. Yup, the night of the terrible storms.

My Azaleas have been blooming since Jan! They aren't supposed to bloom till at least late March.

I didn't realize the severity of the storms until it was all over OUR news. I can't believe that many died. They say this was the worst group of tornadoes for decades. What city do you live in? Any damage there?

It's actually pretty warm here at 58*.
Yes that was quite surprising how many twisters hit and how many died.
I thought any daytime high under 60 F was considered pretty cold for the southern California coastal areas.
(I know that seasonal is about 65 F mid-winter in Los Angeles and San Diego)
