Link above has it all... As far as the U.S, here's just a few highlights.
St Johnsbury, VT latest measureable snow happened this year out of the last 119 yrs
“The 0.1″ of snow that accumulated last night (May 26, 2013) in Saint Johnsbury, VT (Elevation of about 700 feet) as measured by our long term cooperative observers there was the latest measurable snowfall on record. The previous record was 2.0″ on May 20th, 1912 “
"Mount Mansfield in Stowe, Vermont, had 13.2 inches of snow on Sunday, the latest in the season it’s ever had a foot"
Syracuse and Binghamton NY record latest snow as well.
This was handy as it gave some historical context for the seemingly freak snow at this time of year (not "here" where I am, but elsewhere in the state).
In the conclusion of the piece to which you linked, it says that this late a snowfall is likely to happen once every several years at higher elevations, though obviously it's more unusual for lower climes.
Anyway...I enjoyed seeing the additional photos in the story, too.
I have the above site bookmarked, but that's for the page about my town, thus I wouldn't have otherwise seen this article-
so, thanks for bringing it to attention.
