Ew, who would EVER choose Death Valley? It has colder winters and much, MUCH hotter summers than the nice mild climate of Oceanside (where I live). That said, I would prefer it if Oceanside had more rain/thunderstorms and warmer winters.

You never know- Oceanside has weak, but comfortable summers with that clammy "June Gloom" and there are some hardcore heatlovers on here. I like to create somewhat lopsided polls to see what extent people would go to get their "fix" of whatever (heat, snow, storms, etc).

Although, the June Gloom didn't happen last year, and probably won't this year. I do enjoy your polls!

Thanks but I'm not nearly as entertaining as the person who created the "San Diego vs. Vostok" poll a few weeks ago.

I don't think this will be a hard choice for many people. I might have suggested Oceanside vs. Palm Springs or even somewhere like Fresno. Even so, I would probably still go with Oceanside.

Pretty good climate (strong Namibian vibe) but I would probably go a couple of miles inland to make it just right.

Death valley, as its name says it, is a sort of hell. The summers are maybe among the hootest on earth. It is hardly possible to live there because of that.

"Oceanside" seems to be drastically different. Its winters seem very nice. But in my point of view I found the summer temperatures to be really too low, especially when we consider that it is a climate that is considered to be subtropical (a few degrees lower than in my "oceanic" place...

Death Valley is not named that because of the weather.....many know it is called that because some early pioneers took a wrong turn, ended up in the area, and some died....in the winter
