Looks like it's very cold there only 17C. Melbourne hasn't had a thunderstorm in a long time, this summer was probably the worst storm season I can ever recall. Didn't even have a single night time lightning display.
Very few storms here either during the summer until the two events in the last week. 7.4mm of rain so far today and still falling, getting some nice CG's and rumbles of thunder. Hasn't been above 20C all morning, and quite dark much like a winter's day. Somehow I don't think we'll reach the forecast max of 28C
Late burst of warm weather here, partiularly just away from the immediate coast - high 20's and should be low 30's by the week-end.
Southerly Change due on Sunday - just in time for St Patrick's Day! - should cool things down a little.
It really isn't true autumn weather until after the Equinox (21st March) anyway.
Today reached 22 C, 5 C below forecast. Why am I not surprised?
Should be similar temps for the weekend, but looking very gloomy. That'll be three weekends in a row with hardly a ray of sun!
Next week looks like easing the lengthy dry spell we've had here (only 20 mm last month over two days and less than 1 mm this month to date).

The rain and storms have ended with 26mm recorded, which is more than the monthly average rainfall for March. Haven't heard thunder as loud as it was this afternoon in a long time.
Nice to have a cold day for a change as well, stayed around 16C-18C all day. Back to normal programming tomorrow with a 30C day forecast.

According to the BOM, it didn't even exceed 20C!

Must also be a record for number of consecutive 20+ C lows? You really have been spoiled!
Yes it's a record for consecutive nights over 20C. Previous record was 6 nights set in 2008 and 2009.

Good on ya mate, you deserve it: Weather News - Perth's heaviest rain since September .
The first few days of this month saw a lot of heavy rain/showers
However after this event it has been mainly dry, but thankfully not too sunny, with a lot of light and drizzly showers about. Yesterday morning was really humid - very trying! In fact I, and many others, think this month, so far, has been much more warmer and humid than last month! At least it wasn't as bad as Melbourne and Adelaide!
Interestingly enough I never saw that evil yellow thing at all yesterday, yet the airport recorded 1.5 hours of it and today was very overcast until around 4pm, naturally once that horrid sun blared out almost blinding my eyes, my "jovial" mood went downhill very rapidly
Looking nice here - apart from tomorrow, a very good day to stay indoors and catch up on paperwork, emails, reading etc - over the next few days, lower minimums will be much welcome but
not looking too good from Thursday onwards with 3-4 days forecast, if current models are correct, to exceed 30 degrees C .
It's supposed to be cooling down, not heating up, and considering that last month failed to reach 30C, it will be a big contrast *vomits at the thought of heat and humidity along with N-NW winds*.
I really am looking forward to winter - that is if ECLs occur frequently - with cold southerly gales, cloudy skies and frequent rain/showers.
If from the west then expect the total opposite (I'll be screaming my head off) *LOL*

Meanwhile here we're having an early burst of full autumn in March. Temps in BA around 20 C / 9 C (68 F / 48 F) when the average for the moth is 26 C / 17 C (79 F / 63 F).
In some interior locations of Buenos Aires Province, today afternoon saw temps almost winter-like: in Tandil I checked at 12 PM and it was raining with 9.8 C (49.6 F).
It's really nice, and it seems that we go in opposite directions whith SE Australia. When it gets below avg there, we get above avg and vice versa. :P
