Russia is usually in winter but this is abnormally cold even for Russia. 270 people have been hospitalized, more than half of them due to frostbite. Crazy. Cold weather is no joke.
I think I'd have a hard time surviving those temps too.. brrr...
I wonder if that bitterly cold air will migrate into Western Europe in the new year
Probably more likely to head down across Canada onto us than Western Europe. It seems more difficult for nature to move cold air east to west at the latitude of Europe. It does happen, but happens to us here much more often.

I doubt somehow that cold will migrate from West russia to Philadelphia. Thats quite a distance.
