How would you rate the climate of this uninhabited island in the South Atlantic?

Gough Island, South Africa: Climate, Global Warming, and Daylight Charts and Data

I'd rate it a C, since it has better winters than Vancouver with a record low of only -2.7°C and summers aren't much worse. Hard to believe with such a mild winter, it would be uninhabited when people live in places like Yakutsk

Edit: Forgot to put in a poll. Moderator can put the usual A-F poll if they want.

C-. Not a great climate, but not a bad one either. I'm guessing lowish sunshine hours (1500- 1700hr), but more than 2000 could see an upgrade to C. Better than the Chathams in my opinion.

Looks like a wet version of the coast of Northern California or Southern Oregon. And no dry season. Temperatures not too horrible of a range, but way too wet and no warm season.

C

Added poll.

Not bad. Plenty of rain and comfortable temperatures year-round. Winters are warmer than ideal, but summer temperatures are nice. Kind of boring though.

D unless the sunshine hours are much higher than one would expect.

This climate really offers nothing to anyone. The summers are much too cool for heat lovers while the winters are much too mild for cold lovers.

For me personally the rain (and probably high wind) is the fatal flaw. 3157 mm a year (I have to assume the 26 and 29 mm figures for Oct and Nov are out by a factor of ten) is a ridiculous amount given how cool this climate is. The climate seems similar to the West Coast of New Zealand.

Without the rain this would merely be a boring, cool climate. When the extremely high rainfall (and presumably frequent gale force winds and very low sunshine) is taken into account it seems like a truly hellish place. For its latitude you'd really have to look very hard to find a climate nearly as bad.

I can't give this any higher than a D-. Truly foul -- only the lack of extreme cold saves it from an F (the rarity of frost is not a drawcard for me considering the overall coolness -- I'd rather have frequent frosts and warmer winter highs).

Looks a lot like the Isles Of Scilly in the UK:

Isles of Scilly - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I imagine other than the wind, it's a decent gardening climate at least. A C from me.
