A small city on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, 390km north of Sydney. A good example of a sub-tropical/warm temperate, fairly oceanic climate with moist conditions year round but with a definite summer maximum. Winters are still sufficiently sunny (in my opinion) and mild to cool. I think the climate wins out with it's moderate summer highs (about the same as Sydney, despite being further north it's right on the coast). I'm guessing it's slightly sunnier than Sydney too but a bit gustier.

2 for me... not a bad subtropical climate. I like the fact that it's record low is 0.0°C
Guaranteed to never have a frost unlike other places at the same latitude in North America on the east coast

The old weather station is now closed, the new temps are measured at the airport:

Climate statistics for Australian locations

I know the town well, my 95 y.o grandfather has retired there for the past 35 years, and been there many times.
Climate is noticeably warmer than Sydney, particularly in shoulder season months.
Rating 1-, temps close to ideal, but summer humidity is also present.
As far north as I would want to live in my home state, before heat downgrades the ratings.

A-, which I guess equates to a 1?

Beautifully mild, with hottish summer afternoons and chilly winter mornings to keep things interesting. Reasonably dry winters but ample annual rainfall to keep things nice and green.

The Australian Central East Coast has a fantastic climate and I look forward to relocating there.

2+. Awesome climate with perfect summer temps. Good rainfall and sun hours. The only thing I would change would be to make the winter minimums a little lower.

4 or D...

Way too rainy and humid. Too bad, cos the temps are rather pleasant all year round...
