Here are comparisons between Port Isabel, Texas and Miami, Florida, Texas gets a bad name because of the record lows, but normally it is comparable(though quite cooler) to South FLorida.(First thumbnail is Port Isabel second is Miami)

No, the low was 54F, so no record.
