So, I plan to live in washington and study there at the same time. I am currently a 16 year old that has live in RI for about 9 months. And I have lived in Washington for over 6 years. I plan to live in Washington till I graduate high school which will be a total of 22 months in total. I have a father that is married and has 2 kids over in Washington. Is there anyway I can obtain Washington residency by being financially dependent on him?

Yes, I believe you can do that. Just let them know that you are living with your father, who is in Washington State. To be sure, though, you would have to check with the school.

Sounds like you will have been gone for less than a yr, so your 'historical' residence may be classified as WA, especially if your father claims you as a dependent. This should not matter, as you only need one yr to become a resident for tuition reasons. Personally I would get in touch with a 'Running Start' program and do FREE college instead of HS. (you need to 'test in' while a sophomore, or at least BEFORE you can enroll. It s work a $200 ticket to fly home (WA) and do it).

Oh this is my fault. I said that I was going to go to Washington but I'm actually going to live in Rhode Island for about 22 months in total and graduate high school in Rhode island. Then I like to try and move to WA and obtain residency.

You should be fine. I am in the exact same situation actually. I moved to Texas a year ago and cannot wait to get out of here.
