I'm not looking for a job, just want to help out once in a while. I have been invited to help a friend on his boat in Marrow Bay(or someplace like that) net.....Silvers, I think. Any way I have never been on a boat more than an hour, so I want to see how I do. I'm not looking for a joy ride or a sport fishing trip. I'm looking for some hands on experience fishing or crabbing or what ever, on a bout out on the water......I'm going anyway this summer, so it would be nice to get some practice in. Not looking for any pay (a fish or two would be ok ) just the experience and see how bad this sea sickness will be.

You posted this same thread in the Alaska forum. Fisherman don't frequent forums, and they certainly don't hire from them. You need to head down to Fishermen's Terminal in Seattle and walk the docks to find what you're looking for.

Thanks,
I thought about that, but I don't know any fishermen (local) and I don't think, just walking up to someones boat and saying, let me work for free for 1-3 days, is going to get me anywhere.

I guess I'll try to network a little better, with people I know. Maybe some of them may know of someone, who is in the business.

Thanks.

If you went and networked down there, you would find something. That's where the fishermen are. If it were me, I'd head down there one afternoon, and wait for some of the boats to start coming in, and just talk, talk, talk to guys until you find someone.
