Pretty brutal bike ride today. I ate a little breakfast before I left around 10am, and took a couple of granola bars with me. Biked down Chuckanut Drive to Skagit Valley, then up to the Samish Overlook. While climbing the mountain I began losing steam. It didn't help that this was the most climbing (by far) that I've ever done on a bike. At the overlook I ate both granola bars, stretched, and just rested for a little while, hoping I would recover, because I had a long way to go to get home. Rode back down the mountain, around Lake Samish, then back to Fairhaven. I was really struggling by the time I got home. Total mileage was only about 41 miles, but I climbed aver 2100 feet, which is MUCH more than I've ever done before. Now if only I didn't have to work tomorrow...

Nothing like overdoing it, huh Lamplight? Wow, some great pics of my old stomping grounds! Much appreciation from this guy for your hard work!

Those are great, too, Chilkoot. I know where to come when I miss my homeland!

Thanks! I've been enjoying Lamplights photos for quite a while now and throw some of my own in there occassionally when we visit.

Default Olympia, WA

Wow, what a great thread. Thanks to all who have posted. I live in Missouri, and my wife and I have long been planning a move to Washington, probably Olympia. Anticipate moving in 2 years, and I can't wait! After reading through 123 pages of posts, I only saw a handful of images from Olympia. Given that absence I thought I'd contribute a few of my own photos from our visit there May 2013.

Edit: having a hard time getting pictures to post. I've tried posting to flickr and to city data itself, then posting the link, but nothing working. I'd appreciate any tips on how to do this. Thanks!

It is not simple. There is a post somewhere with a summary. I have posted photos in the past, then forgot, so I have not posted any in a while.

Went up to Artist Point last night with some friends, hoping to see the aurora borealis. We never saw it, but the clear night sky gave me plenty of photographic opportunities anyway.
