I will rephrase my question. If I move to the Aberdeen area, am I more or less likely to fall into category #2 than if I stay in Seattle?

That would probably depend where in Aberdeen or Seattle you moved to.

In Aberdeen, I would expect there would be a greater contact with meth addicts down in the poorer parts of town than there would be up on the hill.

But I think that’s a Universal Truth and applies to everywhere, not just Aberdeen.

When looking at any town as a possible residence you have to be aware of that towns economy in order to determine the level and type of drug abuse. The more affluent areas will be around the centers of a newer high tech kind of economy and consequently, high end drugs, go to the areas that have an extractive (mining, logging, mills, fishing) economy and your bound to see more low end drugs. Rural= Meth,and pot, urban= ectasy, coke, pot and pharma-dope. The impact of drugs on a particular area can vary, but the areas economy is the driver in most cases where you find people you don't want to live around..
