Once the vaccinated get their 3rd dose, the mask mandates will go away.. for some time.

Gotta keep that carrot just far enough out front..

Although I truly believe MANY Washingtonians would not only tolerate Sydney, Aus style draconian measures, they’d welcome it with open arms, at least in the beginning when “their” side was doing the dictating

The fake news media seems to be winning, based on what I see lately in the workplace. People who were reluctant to get the shot are being forced to get tested, just because they were in a room with a vaccinated person. There's a true saying, which says if you repeat something enough times, it becomes the truth. People look for ways it can be true and the lies are so tangled up with some truth. These weenies will bow lower and lower until one day they can never again stand up.

The vaxxes are working. This is a fact backed by data.

You won't end up visiting the hospital nor dying if you get infected and you're vaxxed.

99.5% of those in the hospital and dying are UNvaxxed.

This is not new information nor is it rocket science.

Have you seen the Israeli data for this?

That 99.5% is now 95% and probably will keep going down as time goes by.

For full disclosure - I am fully vaccinated. And will probably get the stupid booster shot.

But it seems to be getting more and more clear that vaccination is not the "way out of this pandemic".

It seems ridiculous to me that the only tactic left to "encourage" people to get vaccinated is to insult and minimize their beliefs and opinions.

How did The Powers That Be NOT expect that there would be vaccine resistance? Never in the history of time has a free society EVER completely acquiesced to a requirement or a rule, especially as abrupt and controversial as this. To me, it is a failure on the government's part to not have a "plan B" for what would happen if enough people don't get the vaccine. Did they not expect this?

Hell, the rule to "not murder" other people has been in place for millennia, but still people don't follow it.

Is there a Plan B? At all?

At a guess I have to imagine it's cause some who got the vaccine early on it's lost some of its potency hence the booster shot...just a guess though.

There are places where the vaccination rate is very high, but there are still impactful spikes like Vermont. 67% of the population is fully vaccinated yet they are having their 2nd worst covid spike of the pandemic.

It never should have been lifted in the first place. It was too soon, and now, with the delta variant, it is much more infectious and deadly. Pediatric ICUs are filling up in the south, for example. Being in WA right now as a traveling health care worker I am quite pleased to hear this.

Get vaccinated, wash your hands, wear a mask (even if you've been vaccinated since you can still be an asymptomatic carrier and infect others), and repeat as necessary until we can truly get past this. Unless you have a specific medical reason to not get the shot then you should for the good of humanity. Anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers I consider to be on the same level as drunk drivers.
