My husband accepted a position in Everett, Wa. We will be moving across country to live in WA. Can anyone suggest a nice nearby city to move to and a nice apartment complex with washer and dryer?

Also, I heard that we will be in culture shock when we move to the west coast? Can someone who has lived on both the east and west coast elaborate on that for me?

Any and all information will be appreciated. Thanks!

Default Near Everett

You can find some nice homes in apartments in Everett, although I'd stay out of downtown Everett and stick more with SE Everett. I'd also reccomend looking in Mukilteo, Mill Creek and Bothell. Unlike a lot of places most apartment complexes here have the washer and dryer in unit.

Default marysville is a great place to live with good prices

marysville just to the north of everett by one town is a good place to live with very moderate housing prices compared to many. most places come with washer and dryer (not all but most do)

compared to e coast living you will find the everett area to be friendly for the most part and while congested and fast paced to some degree, much more laid back than many bigger city areas.

traffic can be a pain but it is doable.

lots of road construction in everett and will be that way for another yr or 2 probably ... but other than that - nice area - nice scenery - nice people.

The east coast is alot different than the west coast is in land.
I have to put it in an inner-city perspective for you(I'm from Brooklyn/Miami)
on the east coast land is expensive and limited so everything is crowded together and high-rise. Now in th ewest coast there is ALOT of construction in every town and city. and almost all apartment complexes in the North-End are 2-4 stories and use vinyl siding and what not opposed to bricks like in NY,NJ,MA,PA,DC.
I wouldnt reccommend living in Everett btw. its very industrial there
