It's currently 91 at my place on the Olympic Peninsula. I'm one of those people who start to get tired of the gloomy winters, so I wish I could save some of this for January.

How hot is it in your corner of Washington?

It's been at least 94 or more everyday here since the middle of last week (North East Washington)

Still much cooler and wetter than last summer.

I heard a newscaster on the radio comment that, in Eastern Washington, we have had about 3,000 acres burned in wildfires to date this summer. Last year to this date, we had 320,000. So I'm not going to complain.

I remember, that was awful.

I'll admit to being a weather wimp...grew up in the desert when all we had were swampers to cool us down.

We hit 100 here in SW WA. Hotter than my parents place down in Florida. I'm miserable as our rental house has no a/c...and we don't close on our purchased house till next week.

This past winter it was warmer here than it was down there a good number of days too.

Mid-to-high 90s in Vancouver WA and down into Portland and across the Columbia River area. Portland flirted with 100. No humidity though, so for most of the day you could still be out and about and it wasn't an oven like Las Vegas or Phoenix. Beautiful, but warm for sure. East winds have kicked up a bit, coming off the Pacific. Tomorrow and this weekend, going to be hot. This summer has been beyond beautiful, we're getting a few hot days in apparently.

Hit 86 or so in Seattle, low 90's tomorrow.

Have got all my fans going - hopefully it will cool off enough by midnight to go to sleep.

Portland/Vancouver have a lot more humidity than Phx. They're on the Columbia River. Phx is in the middle of the desert: dry heat. Humidity in Phx is usually between 20-30%. In Porland, it's often between about 40 and 70%, or so. Portland is on the list of the top 10 most humid cities in the US. Today Portland's humidity was relatively low, for Portland: 33%. That's pretty dry. Phoenix was 25%.

Two years ago I put in a new heat pump when the old furnace gave out... so far so good and one of the benefits is it has A/C... so my renters are very happy.

There is also a daylight basement that is always cool year round.

My friends near Medford were talking about 105...

Over here on the coast, we got up to 75 during the day, but it cooled down to 61 overnight.
