trees... +/-... I have many 300' tall trees in my forest, BUT... being Colorado born and bred (sunshine) I LOVE my full south facing OPEN view. (for about 50 + miles) Mt Hood to Twin Sisters (uninterrupted). Trees can be a very big DOWNER in the dark PNW, they can fall on your house and SMASH it FLAT! (tough to sleep when the wind is blowing and it has been raining for 6 months (loose roots) and a 30.000# tree is towering above you, Trees allow moss to grow in their shadow (usually your roof / sidewalks), ... I vote for CLEAR views and EZ sleeping.
