It might be interesting to note that the topic of renovating the T-Dome has come up before. Back in 2006, voters rejected a 45 million dollar bond measure to renovate the dome by a healthy margin. Since then, the idea had been a bit DOA.

Part of the problem was the funding source - raising property taxes. Tacoma property taxes are already higher than average and Tacoma roads are notoriously pot-holed, so I can see why Tacomans didn't see the urgency. But the dome really does need a face lift.

Showare in Kent is not a success story, either. It continues to lose money: Kent's ShoWare Center continues to lose money
