What grocery store is nearby? Is there a Whole Foods-type one?

What are the gym options in this area (nice)?

Is Comcast/Xfinity my only choice of cable providor?

Anything else about the area I should know?

Are you talking about the Proctor District? If you are, there's a Metropolitan Market, a reasonable facsimile of a Whole Foods, as well as the Proctor Farmer's market, which is year round.

The 'Proctor District' is one part of the area sometimes known as the North End of Tacoma. Very nice area, I lived there for awhile.
Any amenity you are looking for can likely be found there as well.

Comcast is NOT your only choice for cable, but you'll have to look around for some of the smaller providers. There are also some dish network providers that offer some good deals.

Good luck!
