Is there significant road noise that reverberates in any parts of the region due to any sources (e.g. I-5, 101, Logging industry..etc...) day or night or both?

Yes, anything within 1/2 mile of I5 is going to have significant road noise, 24/7 but far worse at commute hours and again on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons when people go south or to the ocean and back for the weekend. Olympia also gets some jet and helicopter noise from nearby joint base Lewis McChord, where they train day and night. There is very little logging traffic any more, mostly container traffic from the ports, moving vans passing through, and normal car traffic.

They fly all over. We lived off of Cooper Pt on the Westside and would often hear military helicopters. I never noticed the pattern but my husband swore they flew over every night around 9 or 10. It was generally brief and hardly noticeable.

I was really worried about this too before we moved here. Generally we hear helicopters flying around on the same day and isn't every day. I've been told they are doing more exercises and sometimes you'll hear this at night (was around 10pm earlier this week). It is, by no means, anything that will impede on your quality of life. We have noticed a good bit of noise coming off pieces of I-5 and live about a mile away without problem. There are a good bit of industrial pieces to the area, especially in parts of Lacey, so sometimes we hear trucks and motorcycles.

Probably best to visit the area you want to move a few times a day so that you can see for yourself, but wouldn't worry about too much noise overhead usually.
