Hi, Everyone
I am going to be relocating to Washington with my family and am having trouble deciding on an area. Hopefully if I share a little about us you all my be able to share some insight on an area that might work best for us. My husband is a Machinist and will be making in the range of 45k to 55k per yr. We are job searching for that now and i am taking classes on Soul midwifery/end of life care. I have an 8yr old that will be attending public school and another in college. We would like a small town feel with low crime rate but without a long commute to Tacoma, kent, or Bremmerton since all have potential employment. Thank you for your help in advance.

You should start your own thread, in the "Washington" or "Seattle area" forum, rather than tag onto another's thread, if you want to get a broad range of answers. This thread is only about one town in Washington, Puyallup.

Anybody retired in Puyallup...pros and cons for retirees? My son, DIL, & grandson are in Kirkland and we are thinking of retiring early and want to move closer to them (we are currently in Eastern Washington). The housing prices seem very reasonable for what you get compared to Kirkland where the prices would be 2 or 3 times more for the same. Even the prices where we live on the East side of the Cascades are higher from what I can tell.

From my perspective, it seems like you get a lot of house in safe community with easy access to Tacoma and a short trip to Seattle.
