Hey all, I am trying to get a sense of which is the best cell company to use up in the Port Angeles/Sequim area. When we were there in the summer we stayed in Sequim and I had spotty service at the place we stayed, but we were also back in the woods. If we went into town it seemed to work fine but I never tried to use it while we were visiting Port Angeles. I know it barely worked at all in the Forks area but that really isn't a concern, only the people who worked with me there had AT&T and their phones worked down there but they said they didn't work on the nothernside. So just trying to take a survey, any help is appreciated

No contest- hands down winner is Verizon. I have coverage over most of the peninsula with a couple of exceptions: I'll loose signal for a bit between Sekiu and Neah Bay or if we're way back deep in the park (Olympic Nat'l) hiking or climbing. Even with the latter situation, most of the time if I climb and gain elevation I can get signal again. It's also a little patchy along the Hood Canal in spots (between Brinnon and Lilliwaup). I've never had a problem in/around Forks but I will usually loose signal for a while driving south of Forks on Hwy. 101, if for whatever reason we're taking that route down to Montesano/Aberdeen.

FWIW, my brother has AT&T. When he visits (from out of state) and we're out showing him the sights on the peninsula, he'll loose signal fairly often once we get out of town (but does fine within PA/Sequim). In these same areas where he drops signal, I continue to have full bar or nearly full bar signal.

OTOH, I'm not holding my breath for LTE from VZW here in this area anytime soon...

Agreed. My Mom is on Blue Mountain road about 4 miles up. When we had ATT and later T-mobile, we would have to drive all the way down to 101 to get a signal. Verizon works just fine from there.

My son had Sprint and it worked but dropped calls.

Okay, thank you very much We were using Verizon when we were out there and like I said in town it was fine, I think it was just when we were way out at the farm. And we only visited PA to do a few things so I never really tried to use it then, so I can just stick with the plan I've got. Thanks a bunch!
