We just signed a lease for a condo in Rockville. We have only been to that area once, and that was to look at the condo. It looks to be in a great neighborhood (Braxfield Ct). We did not sign a long lease as we don't know what to expect. My husband works odd shifts, so with that said driving there wasn't bad the one time we did. We drove there at 6:30pm and traffic wasn't bad at all - We left from the pentagon and it had us go into DC then take Canal RD all the way up to I270.
What are your thoughts on this area? Safe? Clean? Family friendly? Our kids aren't in school yet but we wouldn't mind buying in this area either. So how are the schools?

Rockville has some of the best high schools in the country, in one of the best public school systems in the country. Richard Montgomery and Wooton are extremely exceptional schools that rank 32nd and 60th respectively on Newsweek's top 1300 high schools list (out of ~26,500 high schools in the country).

Based on the OP's address (Braxfield Ct), they'll likely reside in the Walter Johnson High school cluster, not Richard Montgomery nor Wootton.

That is great to know! Our children haven't even start kindergarten yet, so we still have awhile. We were thinking of buying in Rockville, and if the school system is that good we will probably buy near the schools we want our kids to go to.
Does anyone happen to know how safe the area we are living in is? It's Braxfield Ct.
