Sorry, you are correct. Langley Park has it's own city designation. However, I grew up on New Hampshire Avenue just a hop, skip and a jump from "downtown" Langley Park. I lived in PG County. My address was Silver Spring, MD 20903. Silver Spring is in both Montgomery County and PG County. Where I lived was and still is essentially a lower middle class area.

Langley Park is unincorporated so it doesn't have a "city designation" although the Census classes it as a
CDP.

Where the Post Office is doesn't denote County. Silver Spring itself is located entirely in Montgomery County. An example from down here is Rose Haven, which is unincorporated. If you send a letter to someone there the address is North Beach, which is four miles away in a different County.

Takoma Park used to be split between Montgomery and Prince George's but a referendum a about 25 years ago moved the entire incorporated City into Montgomery.

I think I used the wrong words in saying "city designation." I just meant that if you mail a letter, you would use "Langley Park" in the address, not Silver Spring or Takoma Park.

The same is true for Silver Spring.

Its boundaries can be viewed here: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/...ver-spring-md/

Anecdotally, the city has a sizable immigrant population, many of whom are employed in varying professions. Some of them may skew toward working class jobs in service industries or the kind of essential work that cities need to function. Citing Data USA/Google, a quick search indicates that recent data put the figure at 36.5% foreign born residents in Silver Spring.

That probably influences the total economic picture of earnings. Generally, a lot of them are backbone workers grinding it out for a better life for their families. Different neighborhoods have different pockets of communities. That also contributes to the local food scene and some culture. Aside from that, Silver Spring is still a commuting suburb into DC but a lot of newbies into DC live right in the District these days. Sometimes it can take people a while after moving into the metro area to learn about the suburbs in MD or NOVA.

Silver Spring is a fairly big area, I believe it includes lots of older (comparatively) affordable garden apartments that are home to lower income population, younger professionals, etc. By contrast an area like Bethesda is mostly expensive SFHs and luxury apartments.
