Not everyday you see a positive article about the county. Hopefully this continues

Yep. And the people in Montgomery County, where the children are all above average, are suffering apoplexy.

Or MoCoers think good news is...good? Baker was great for the county and that'll hopefully continue paying dividends for PG and MD.

Both counties are badly lagging NoVa, though, so improvement is still needed across the board. Wish those 11K FBI jobs were still in play. Maybe this time next year we'll be waking up to a new POTUS and a reopened bid process.

The reality is that Montgomery, with the election of Marc Elrich as County Executive, is looked at as being unfriendly to business now, mostly because of Elrich's supposed social justice agenda. The County has been lagging in job growth the last few years for a number of reasons not just related directed to politics.

Salary averages in Montgomery are still 30% above Prince George's.

Indeed. Blair (and others) would have easily beat Elrich 1v1. Unfortunately, a crowded field and no rank-choice voting resulted in the worst candidate squeaking through.

I've been saying for years that Montgomery County has a huge problem. With most people working in DC and NoVa, there's increasing less reasons to live in MoCo. Net Migration is plummeting, School rankings are decreasing, and Jobs are leaving. In the next 10-20 years, expect to see a mass exodus from Montgomery County, Md.

I will be part of it.

MoCo makes Berkeley circa 1969 look sane.

Montgomery County seems to be trending towards being a county of have and have nots.
the middle class will leave, and Prince George's County will continue to develop, especially because it is better connected to DC and Northern Virginia.

Part of the problem is Montgomery County's inability to attract business. The fact that they are just now getting their first Wawa kind of says it all. A lot of businesses see PG and Howard county as better options.
