I lived in an appartment in Bowie for 4 months while working in Riverdale. My acct is still trying to file my 2011 MD taxes (I am back living in MI). She keeps telling me she can't figure them out. She says it tells her I should be getting a $500 refund until she puts Prince George's County code in and then it drops to $50. She is wondering if there is a city or county tax that would be taking all of the refund away. Any ideas? She's clueless. Thanks!

It sounds like you're getting hit for the piggy back income tax (in addition to the State Income Tax each County levies what is called a piggy back income tax. Generally it's about 1/2 of your State tax. PG is a bit higher, I think 55% or 60%. It's collected by the State and remitted back to the County.).
