Hi,

We're looking at buying a condo in the Fallsgrove development or a townhouse in North Potomac. First, what do you know about the Fallsgrove development?: quality of buildings and/or management company (Armstrong). Is it strictly a bedroom community or are people around during the day? Do any of the townhome communities nearby (Dufief?) have town centers? Or are particularly walkable? Is there a significant difference in the quality of schools between Montgomery and Wootton clusters? I am looking for high quality math, science, and arts--hoping for an elementary school that emphasizes experiential learning instead of teaching for the test. How do Ritchie, Fallsmead, or Stone Mill compare?

Thanks!

I can only speak for Fallsgrove since I know a friend who lives there. Its full of TH's, condos and some apts. I believe they are tied to the Richard Montgomery High school cluster (correct me if I'm wrong). Its also walkable as there is a safeway, dentist office and some other restaurants there.

I do not believe Dufief has its own town center. I have driven the neighborhood often, and I have not seen one. For the current time being, the neighborhood is in the Wooten district. If or when Crown Farm has a high school built, it may change I think. But that would be several years away. The town homes are definitely older, and many may need basic updates at least. Have you checked the new Crown Farm area? I think the area off Washingtonian is being developed rapidly.
