27 yrd single male - Job opportunity may take me to Annapolis. What's the lifestyle like there? Age group? Cost of living? Any feedback would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

Annapolis has a lot of bars, but the crowd can be pretty cliquey where people hang out with the people they went to High School with, then there is the whole Naval Academy scene. It's probably worth trying for a year, if you hate it, South Baltimore is only 30 minutes from Annapolis with rare traffic in between. There is a huge young professional bar, hangout, and sports scene in South Baltimore. Lots of different age groups in Annapolis, and not much of a middle class... lot of rich, lot of low income.

Thanks. Per research, it looks like a great city. Close to DC I see as well.

If you like an active lifestyle, I would try to see if you can find something "Downtown". You can walk to lots of shops and restaurants and stuff. If not, there are cool neighborhoods near the navy stadium, near the mall, and Eastport has gotten pretty nice as well, and is kind of an extension of downtown

Be a little bit careful, Annapolis has some bad areas that they do a good job hiding. There is the Clay street area which is right behind West Street and the Loews hotel, and that area is pretty rough. Pretty much everything on West Street is block by block. So I would recommend driving a 4 block radius if you find a place you like!

And yes, Annapolis is about 45 minutes to DC, 30 minutes to Baltimore, and less than 2 hours from the Beach. Philly is about 2 hours, Gettysburg is less than 2 hours.
