Hi

Would really like some help! My partner has just been offered a job in Chesapeake and we are wondering if anyone could help us out with a few questions we have.
We are a young couple currently living in England with two year and feel this could be a great chance for us. We love meeting new people, outdoors activitys but only want to make this move if we can set a good life up for ourselves.
We have heard Great Bridge, Hickory and Deep Creek are good choices for us to look at can anyone confirm this?
When we first move over my partner will be working so I would like to live somewhere where I will be able to make friends with families also with young children but also quite close to local shops as I wont have a car straight away.
My main concern though is my partner wage he will be on $45,000 for the first year which will have to cover all of us until I am able to work. His company are paying for accomodation so its just bills and living exspenses is this enough i've got several other concerns listed below;

1. Is $45,000 salary enough to live on till I am able to work.
2. What are the best neighbour hoods to live in.
3. Is there a lot of family clubs/ activitys for me to do with our daughter.
4. Are people friendly and welcoming.
5. Areas to avoid.
6. Rough monthly living cost electricity, water, grocerys ect.

Any other help or advice would be very useful thank you.

Thumbs up Moving to Chesapeake

Generally $45,000 should be enough for you in Chesapeake. Please get a car as it will almost impossible for you get around, even to a grocery, etc. Good Luck to you!
