I currently live in Pennsylvania, Philly area. I have a job interview in Accomac and was just wondering about the town. I did a little research and seems to be a very small, rural area.

Accomac has a lot of open, flat fields with vegetable fields and gigantic chicken-farming operations. Very hot and humid in summer. Assateague Island / town of Chincoteague are popular summer resorts with camping and cottages, although quiet and low-key, and notorious for mosquitoes. Chincoteague is nationally famous for its wild ponies roaming the beach, which are herded and auctioned off once a year at a special ceremony. A government NASA scientific facility is on Wallops Island. The closest cities are Salisbury MD which has a shopping Mall, a large hospital and a University, and to the south there is Norfolk/ Virginia Beach, a major metropolitan area with a lot of military bases which is also a major summer resort destination. To drive to Norfolk/Virginia Beach you must cross a long bridge-tunnel complex with an expensive toll. Ocean City, MD is also a major resort city with many miles of hotels and tourist-oriented businesses.
