There are no incorporated towns in Bath County only very very small communities, like Ashwood-Healing Springs, Bacova, Hot Springs, Millboro & Millboro Springs, Mitchelltown to name a few. The biggest employer in the county would be The Homestead. The weather well alot of information will tell you that in the Summer 69°F & Winter 32°F. When I resided in Covington, Hot Springs seem to always be at least 8 - 15 degrees cooler no matter what season we were in. Valley Supermarket is the biggest grocery store and its a MOM and POP type place. Highland County, specifically Monterey is know as Little Switzerland and even colder. Ive been to high school softball games in McDowell (Highland County High School didn't have a softball field) and the wind would be howling and the snow blowing. The closest city from there would be Staunton and the mountain is certainly not a pleasure to drive. One of the largest producers of wool and known for the Highlands Maple Festival. Hope this helps a little.

Highland County, specifically Monterey is a lovely town but as others have said also very remote. If you like that it is a great place. If you are of retirement age and looking for peace and quiet that is a possibility. The price of property is high becuase they do have a MILLION DOLLAR VIEW.... IT IS GORGEOUS. Winters are harsh, but the road crews do a great job. Groceries are easily gotten in Franklin WV without going over the mountains as some has suggested. Not everything you need is all the way in Staunton. If you want to go to Wallie World everyday then dont live there. It is a quiet, majestic, small town feel with good local folks that help each other out. If you are looking for diverse demographics that is not the case there either. 99.5 white. Warm springs and Hot Springs are easily accessible as well with great restaurants and trout fishing is the best in the whole state. So depends what you are looking for.....
