So you made it to VA! What did you end up finding for work and a place to live?
Do you feel like a flatlander now...after living in CO? Or are the Blue Ridge Mountains enough mountain for you?

Default welcome!

My husband and I live in Bedford County; we go to church and get farm supplies in Bedford and we work in Roanoke. I love Bedford too! It's charming, and everyone is so nice. I'm glad you like it there.

Hi juniorG,
I'm Ryleigh's husband, and I wanted to also welcome you to the Bedford area. We absolutely love it out here!

I never really embraced a small-town atmosphere before living near Bedford -- and life seems perfect this way. The people here are friendly and respectful, and being sandwiched between Smith Mountain Lake and the Peaks of Otter is a lot of fun.

Let us know if we can help in any way or offer any suggestions for you.

My marriage brought me here from Roanoke in 1984. I really came to enjoy the 'small town' speed and lifestyle. After my wife died in '96 friends were surprised that I chose to remain in Bedford since I had work and connections to Roanoke. I felt like leaving Roanoke for the evening to sleep in Bedford was a form of decompressing a stressful day.
The only downside has been the rising taxes and fees for homeowners.
