PS3 and Xbox games have always been about equal. I'll probably stick to the Xbox, I can't stand the PS controller for action games. I remember the original Xbox had horrible controllers, glad they downsized them
It's funny, switching sides in video games is kind of like coke vs pepsi. People tend to have strong loyalties to one or the other.
-I remember as a kid in the 80's, early 90's, you were either a nintendo person or sega. Some people had both, but there was kind of a dividing line between the two. I never owned a sega, for any of their consoles. Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast. Was always a nintendo person.
I don't think I'll ever buy an xbox. I'll probably get a ps4. It seems like the console wars just keep getting bigger and bigger every year.
I originally bought a 360 when I moved away from my friends so I could still play games online with them and they all had 360s. Since we got rid of cable, I think our Xbox gets used more for watching Netflix and Hulu than it does for playing games. And for that reason, I'd probably stick with Xbox. That being said, we won't be buying a new one any time soon. Most likely, our 360 will stick around until Microsoft stops supporting the video apps on the 360. Hopefully, that won't be for a few years, but who really knows with Microsoft.
I'm a Nintendo guy. But I was thinking about hopping back onto Playstation or Xbox this generation. I was leaning towards X-Box (only because I can't bring myself to own another playstation after what they did to Sega) but I really wasn't impressed with X-Box one. So more than likely I'll just build a gaming PC and then get a Wii U for my exclusives.
Was strictly a 360 gamer this last gen. For the next round, I'm only certain of one thing: I'm done with the Xbox brand. It's dead to me. I'm leaning toward going back to pc gaming. I might jump onto the PS4 camp, just have to get more information. We'll see what Sony reveals in the next little while.
Since all Gen 4 Gaming consoles are based on X86 PC architecture...
I say just cut out the middle man and Get a Gaming PC the you can upgrade with better components that come out for the Home PC in the (near) future that will blow both the X-box and PlayStation out the water in terms of performance.
Wii U (already owned), PS3 (bought in December 2012), PS4 (maybe at launch), 3DS (bought last year, for travel), and my decent but not cutting edge PC for Starcraft II and Plants vs. Zombies II. So basically just adding a PS4.
Not really switching because I never liked the 360 and will never buy "The One." Ouya, Steambox, Shield, I'll probably take a pass on all that too.
Only thing in doubt is the Vita. If the off-TV play (a feature I LOVE on the Wii U) is solid, and/or some games have compelling second-screen functionality, I might spring for the Vita as a PS4 companion piece.
I've owned consoles from all 3 makers so there is no 'sides' for me. I'll buy whichever one turns out to be the best.
