We are relocating to the WRJ area from Alabama due to my husbands job. I'm seeking any type of information I can get to help survive living in VT. We plan on renting an apartment to begin with until we can decide what area will suit our needs best. My main concern is a great school system for my junior high aged child. Any information regarding this is greatly appreciated.

Default Wow

We currenty own a home in Daphne, AL and my husband is from WRJ,Vt we were actually just there for hockey camp, are you originally from the South? The real estate market has taken a hit so if you can homes are more affordable now than ever, also take a look into Lebannon, NH just over the line, they have no tax (state or sales for certain items).
MOD CUT - no advertising/soliciting for real estate agents

Hi, are you asking about grammar schools/middle school or high school? Woodstock is supposed to have a very good school system, including their high school and Woodstock is approximately 15 -20 mins from WRJ.....

Thank you all for your responses. Yes, I was born and raised in Alabama so the move to the frigid Vermont is scary. The school systems in Alabama are less then desirable so finding a good junior high for my son is a priority.

The other thing that I'm really nervous about is driving in the winter.

Will easily cost you 50% more to live in VT than Alabama.
Unless your hubby is an MD at the VA hospital good luck on local wages which are
as low or lower than bama.
