Generally not; it's usually "stick season," with exfoliated branches wet with rain. We are more prone to getting a lot of snow (8 inches a couple of Halloweens ago) which then melts fast, and haven't recently gotten anything that stays around until after New Year's. It's different on the ski slopes, however.

Thank you for your detailed response! It's safe to assume that it's generally very cold though, right?

It snowed 2 years ago (2014) the day before Thanksgiving, a lot. Stuck around until spring... it was the last layer to finally melt. Upper Valley area - White River Jct, VT.

In northern Vermont it's very common to have snow on Thanksgiving. Last year with hardly no snow almost never happens. November snow is not uncommon.

Yup, two years ago snow started mid November and didn't go away til April for us. This past year was not normal.

Although I hate winter, summer and fall up here is really nice. Winter is rough though.

I tend to think of myself as a cold weather person. I've only really ever been exposed to winter in North Carolina, though.
