Not sure if you guys still have leaves on the trees but there's coastal storm coming and with cold air around you guys might have to expect some snow or ice or sleet happening Saturday night.

This frame is from latest GFS for Sunday 2-8am. Ice Storm?

Oh geez, an ice storm already!?

Still have some leaves up but not a ton, Southern Vermont probably still has some up.

Cam- heading to Putney today from CT for the weekend. Do you think Southern VT will be safe from ice? I mean, I wouldn't mind a little mood snow, but an ice storm? UGH.

It was showing snow earlier this morning but now the forecast is showing straight up rain for tomorrow. I'm sure it will change a few more times lol.

Current Map with highlighted 850mb freezing line. Looks like a warm nose heading into the Adirondacks. No chance of snow without this level below freezing.

Note some warmth has pushed into VT already. Use this link to see current 850mb temps

However, if the surface is at or below freezing while this level is above, then it will be ice so heads up this morning until more warmth pushes in and changes things to rain

Storm center is off the Virginia coast as a 998mb low.

Temps are above freezing southern Part of state so no ice. Unless some local valley spots are still 32° or below. Could be slick there.

Rutland, Hartness, Bennington all reporting light rain right now

Save this link. Updates every hour. Wind Chill of 29° in Rutland

Montpelier is still under freezing with moisture approaching so might start as ice or sleet there.
