Now that's a secret to keep it from being overrun. I stumbled across it while hunting once...

I think I can cut the humidity with a knife now...

Looks like a few storms are firing up in N.Y., starting to cross the border.

EDIT: course once I posted this the ones coming right at us went POOF to just rain *for now which fine by me....

(once I do this they will probably fire back up)
perhaps I should just stick to the music and food topics to be safe

Can't tell you how much I appreciate someone giving me a heads up like that(even though I'm no where near). It's nice to know something is going on out there.
Yesterday a monster cell was approaching SWCT during rush hour and I gave the heads up that roads could be a disaster knowing the size, strength of it. Plus all the damage and cars submerged reports in the northern half of CT I knew this cell would cause chaos for traffic down here. The cell broke apart and nothing happened. I'd rather be warned then surprised with weather.

Anyway -- Current radar. SPC has outlined the chance for Severe Thunderstorms. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/
Cells are moving SouthEast

Those monster storms hit NYC pretty heavily yesterday and late last night though...we had hail, crazy lightening and thunder and many roads were submerged - saw a lot of abandoned cars.

Default Smoke from West Travelling East

Not sure if you guys are following the wildfires out West but it is pretty nasty out there and has displaced 40,000+ people.

How does this relate to us? Well...smoke travels and as you can see on the Satellite image here, It's approaching us...

We'll just see a haze way up above but if anyone smells a touch of smoke, they want you to report it to NWS.

Times like this remind us how Volcanic eruptions and radiation travel through the layers of our atmosphere.

NWS BTV.
"The smoke from the huge fires way out west is making it's way east. This morning's satellite image shows the smoke across Ontario and the eastern Great Lakes (note the light gray smudgy appearance highlighted in the image). That smoke will be moving into our area late today and tomorrow, and it will turn the sky rather hazy. The smoke should be high enough in the sky so we won't otherwise notice it, but if you do end up being able to smell the faint odor of smoke, please let us know"
