This is an urban planning discussion thread is it not? People use these acronyms all the time in discussing the usual assortment of curmudgeons, blue-haired biddies and other obstructionists who crowd the system and deploy tactic after tactic to kill development. This is just a compilation of some of the more common ones you'll see in posts on urban development in this forum and many others.

The second list I just find entertaining.

You're welcome.

Err, "SINK" is Single Income No Kids, a back formation from DINK "Double Income No Kids". I think Single Income, Lots of Kids is SUNK.

Pretty good, but I have more:

NIMTOO. Not In My Term of Office.
NINJA. No Income, No Job or Assets. (you could still get a mortgage in 2005).

Last edited by pvande55; 08-10-2013 at 06:46 AM.. Reason: Add NINJA
