In the light of all this doom and gloom, it's good that we had something entertaining to celebrate this weekend...

We came last in the Eurovision Song Contest!!

We didn't watch it but we heard it on the news. How we laughed and cheered!

What an achievement - go Britannia! Makes you proud to be British. (Yes I am being serious...)

I saw the end of it were Terry Wogan was saying it was now a big joke as it's become more and more political over the years.

Erm... Bucks Fizz won. I can't think of any other occasion!

I think it's always been a bit of a joke to be honest. Because we've got such a healthy music industry we just don't need it really. I'm sure they deliberately pick the worst song they can find, they're always awful.

You see there is that, but we still put in very dull songs. I'm saying this of course but I didn't actually hear this year's contribution. I'm guessing it was probably bad.

Did not see it don't miss it.

But I have heard it is now the Eurovision Political Contest with nothing to do with the song.

Terry Wogan & the BBC should bow out gracefully.

And still enter, just not cover it? Maybe. Although that might look too much like we're trying to back away from Europe altogether. Tricky one.

It's when you see the Eurovision that you realise that us Brits probably don't have any friends in Europe, except perhaps the Irish!
