I've watched documentories, no doubt they existed. It could easily happen in the US, East and West coast centuries in the future.

If you mean the Atlantis the ancient Greeks described, then I think it was just an embellishment of stories of a real place/civilization that existed at the time. But as for advanced civilisations thousands of years ago, I'm not so sure.

Yes, I do believe it existed, because Solon's story of a technologicaly advanced civilization of men would have been alien to the thinking of his day. They would normally have attributed such things to gods, not men. Very unusual.

Here's another interesting find:

Baigong Pipes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They may be natural.... but then again, in 50,000 years that's probably all that would be left of one of our modern cities; strange, probably natural looking rusted "pipes" eroding out of the ground... maybe with little chunks of glass and pieces of ceramics mixed into the sand.

Everything else would have long ago collapsed and eroded into dust.

The point is, he was in a culture where everything was associated with some god or goddess. To even imagine a society like Atlantis built by mere men would have been an alien concept. Don't you think?
