Actually, it depends upon the state. I know in Illinois if you move for your spouse's employment, you can draw unemployment. But not true for Wisconsin, which is out of unemployment money and is now trying to shake us down for $3000.00 in unemployment that they say we should not have got since my husband quit a part time job at WAL-MART so that we could move out of state for me to work. (Sorry for the long sentence!) States that are out of UI or getting close I am sure are being told to deny or anything they can and go back and shake down the rest for any money that was paid out. We are going to fight it but don't hold out much hope of winning. It was their mistake in our opinion but they aren't going to give up "their" money without a fight.

To JackFrost, I don't know where you live but in at least the 3 states I've lived in, you can't be fired and collect unemployment, you have to be laid off. A big difference. They can't just say you're fired and you go happily to unemployment. They'll turn you down.
