I’ve been in UI since being furloughed on 4/6/20. My office plans on reopening on May 18th as long as they get the required PPE for a dental office. I have young kids doing distance learning through end of June and no child care. They are not old enough to do schooling without someone helping/monitoring. They are borderline not old enough to be home alone in any situation of over 2 hours.
If my practice owner agrees to me working from home I hope to do that for the month that I expect camps to still be shut down in MA. If they don’t allow wfh (because of the nature of my job and the fact that it will require additional IT time/expense to set up), how would I then go on to get PUI for the additional month? I have had a hell of a time finding child care in my hone for less than what I make hourly. Camp for one child was already going to take about 90% of my paycheck and elderly grandparents are no longer willing to watch my kids till this blows over.
Main question...if I’m receiving regular MA UI and will no longer be eligible, do I just apply for PUI?
