My sorry state of FL says I can claim benefits if my gross pay is below $275 a week. Since I don't work at the federal minimum wage how is that possible? My question is then if I state my hours are limited to them due to another commitment, would that allow me to maintain benefits until I find another job that won't leave me destitute and homeless?

It sucks. I am I. The same boat as you. If you make over the state weekly amount you will not receive the PUA. I would ask your empler to put you full time one week and at 0 hours the following week. My work did that for us and we have been getting paid for the week from unemployment when we don't work at all. It ok with the state I asked for myself.
