Apply for PAU if benefits exhausted. This is MA

I found this by pocking around. You file for extended benefits if your UI ran out. I applied for PUA just now.

This question is in the pua application are you qualified

Check Box/ unemployment claim with DUA UI Online that ended after July 5, 2019 and there are no benefits left.

I have no official confirmation, but it's on the application and I went for it. I would think this is an easy one to get done fast as no checking for info is needed because UI has it.

Now it told me to wait to hear from them to start filing.

This also means a full 39 weeks, not just 13.

Already got confirmation. My account shows 3 weeks back pay coming. This account is not regular unemployment it's a whole new site.

Sounds like the money is coming without waiting for a person to approve, not sure though.

All accepted applications will initially receive the minimum weekly benefit amount, plus an additional $600 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) weekly benefit. Once a worker’s wages are verified, weekly benefit amounts may increase.

What gets me is this info was not obvious and I just stumbled upon it because i opened the application.

Here's the link for the flowchart for Massachusetts. Hmm.. I guess Massachusetts is combining PUA and PEUC into one link (file claim application) and those who are only entitled to the 13 weeks extension will check that box and the rest will go thru for approval for PUA who then are also entitled to the 13 week extension. Maybe easier for them to program one "PUA file new claim button" that covers both instead of a separate PUA file new claim button and a separate PEUC link. Whatever works that's all that matters.

Good news for you.. glad you were poking around. Yes it is correct that those who are eligible for the 26 weeks of PUA are also entitled to the 13 week extension when PUA benefits run out. Now if NJ would just jump on the band wagon.

Yeah, sounds like that check box will be the separation point for the 13 week extensions.

Thank you .. thank you. Flowchart does nicely lay it out. Maybe I should email it to NJ UI and say hint hint. LOL

Update: Exhausted benefits

Signed up Thursday and received 4 weeks back pay today. 1 week did not include the $600 because it was before the $600 went active. I did not get yesterdays filing yet, probably sometime this week.

If you sign up you might not want to back date to far if only getting 13 weeks. Although I am still showing 39 weeks.
