Nothing for MA or anywhere. The easiest to do is last. MA no longer even has it on their site. At least it used to say coming soon, now that's gone.

I feel like some states are going to hijack PUA to pay for their state pensions fund or something. It’s really sad that NJ and MA aren’t paying these out yet.

Hearing some talk about states possibly going bankrupt and running out of unemployment funds. Would the Feds backstop all these programs or leave citizens up the creek?

I've read the same thing. Only 6 states have enough in reserves to pay claims in their entirety. Mentioned Cali only had enough for 26 days of benefits.. yes days.

So this is probably the reason for the stall. They don't have the money yet and can't lay it out.

Maybe they are trying to make sure they won't be held liable for all these claims if they do go bankrupt.

Supposedly the state I currently live in, North Carolina, had a massive surplus before this calamity. They should have they cut the max benefit from $530 to $350.


I think the Feds are giving the money to the states before they pass it along but I could be wrong.

Big update: This is MA

I found this by pocking around. You file for extended benefits if your UI ran out. I applied for PUA just now.


This question is in the pua application are you qualified


Check Box/ unemployment claim with DUA UI Online that ended after July 5, 2019 and there are no benefits left.




I have no official confirmation, but it's on the application and I went for it. I would think this is an easy one to get done fast as no checking for info is needed because UI has it.


Now it told me to wait to hear from them to start filing.


This also means a full 39 weeks, not just 13.
